He is already taken care of

Scooby joined the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office in August 2024. Defenders for Children secured his sponsorship and placement; International Plastics funded that sponsorship and gave him his name. His training, equipment, veterinary care and day-to-day work are covered by the Sheriff’s Office and that partnership. There is nothing this site needs to raise for him.

The next dog

Defenders for Children is a Greenville nonprofit that finds sponsors for electronic storage detection K-9s and places them with agencies that ask for one. Scooby was theirs; another one is already in the works. Their own site is the place to read about that program and to reach them directly.

Telling people works too

Most people have never heard that a dog can be trained to smell a memory card. Every school visit Scooby makes is partly about that, and so is every share of a story about him. If you work at an agency curious about a dog of its own, Defenders for Children is the first call.
